“Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.” ~ Steve Jobs
I first came across this quote a year ago and it’s been sitting in my “Ideas” Google Doc every since…
The concept of an ENVIRONMENT OF EXCELLENCE haunts me.
Because rarely do we realize we’re operating in such an environment until it’s gone. And once it’s gone, all we do is regret the mistakes that lead to its demise.
My friends, there is NOTHING and I mean nothing that compares to operating in an environment of excellence.
Not salary.
Not freedom.
Not personal accolades.
There are few things more motivating than being surrounded by individuals who demand your best work, not by words, but by their own actions.
That is when you are the best version of yourself.
Not for personal gain, but simply to see what you’re made of… to prove your metal… to be that thing your younger self believed you could be.
ENVIRONMENTS OF EXCELLENCE are rare.
Find one.
Embrace it.
Live there.
