I was asked a couple of days ago if I thought I’d ever regret leaving the insurance industry. I spent 12 years in the insurance industry.
It was my home.
I built an admirable career over the course of those 12 years through consistent long days, working weekends, hundreds of plane trips, conferences, meetings, speaking gigs, etc.
For 12 years I was always on… even when I was home.
This has nothing to do with the insurance industry in general, but I carried those demons with me every day.
To win there, I had to travel, I had to leave my family… I was always looking forward, always anxious, always seeking the next problem to solve.
…and my family suffered.
This blurry photo is why I’ll never regret my decision.
Moving to Metabolic allowed me to reset my priorities and reset my life… carrying with me all the amazing lessons learned from hard-fought battles within the insurance industry.
I will always look back on my time in the insurance industry with a smile.
The problems are real, the work is challenging, and the people are AMAZING.
But I’ll never regret being home.
I try my best to live in every moment now.
