AI can protect agency or drain it
AI is not automatically a high-agency tool. If it helps a leader produce more low-value work, it expands the treadmill. If it removes transactional drag and protects the work where judgment matters, it makes high-agency behavior easier to sustain.
The operating question
Ryan's question is not which AI tool is most impressive. The question is what work AI should remove so the leader can spend more time thinking clearly, acting decisively, and doing the work that creates disproportionate value.
